Marije Tolman

Marije Tolman (1976) is a Dutch illustrator. She grew up on an old farm in Beuningen, a small village near Nijmegen. She studied Graphic and Typographic Design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. At the Edinburgh College of Art, Tolman studied Illustration & Design.

In 2010, she received the Gouden Penseel award for the illustrations for the picture book De Boomhut (The Tree House). More recently, she collaborated with Edward van de Vendel on the picture book Vosje (Little Fox, which will be published in 2020), for which they were awarded the Zilveren Penseel award 2019.
