Double up on Dutch Poetry

Two prize-winning poets, Simone Atangana Bekono and Radna Fabias, exemplify the formal and linguistic diversity of contemporary Dutch poetry. Join us for this very special reading from their new books, translated by David Colmer.

In When The First Sparks Became Visible, Simone Atangana Bekono draws the reader in through all their senses, in poems that are personal and political, confident and innovative. Radna Fabias’ English language debut Habitus is subversive, visual and bold moving from the Caribbean island of Curaçao to the immigrant experience of the Netherlands. A double shot of dynamic Dutch poetry!
